Accessibility statement

Genetic History S.L.U. wants everyone to be able to use YFull.ai, regardless of ability or the assistive technology they use. We are committed to the European Accessibility Act and build accessibility into this site from the start, rather than treating it as an afterthought.

How conformant this site is

YFull.ai is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA, under the European harmonised standard EN 301 549 v3.2.1. "Partially conformant" means most of the site meets the standard, but some parts — listed below — do not yet fully meet it.

What already works

  • Clear page structure — every content page has one main heading and a logical heading order, so you can navigate by headings.
  • Text descriptions — images that carry meaning have text alternatives; purely decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers so they don't add noise.
  • Readable text — body text meets or exceeds the AA contrast requirement (our main text reaches AAA).
  • Keyboard use — you can reach the main content with a "Skip to main content" link, and the keyboard focus is always visible. Buttons and form fields have large, comfortable targets.
  • Screen readers — the site uses standard page landmarks, labelled form fields, and ARIA descriptions so assistive technology can announce the interface.
  • Zoom and reflow — you can zoom to 200% (and beyond) without losing content or needing to scroll sideways; the layout adapts to your screen and text size.
  • Languages — the site is available in English and Spanish, and each page declares its language so screen readers pronounce it correctly.

What is not fully accessible yet

  • Some borders are faint. The outline of certain form fields and cards has lower contrast than the 3:1 we aim for. The text and labels inside them are fully readable; we have scheduled the borders for a styling update.
  • Not yet tested with a screen reader. Our review so far is based on the site's code and structure, not on hands-on testing with NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver. We plan to add that testing.
  • The interactive 3D tree. The visual 3D Y-tree may not be fully usable with a screen reader or keyboard. The same data is available in text and table views (Simple, Scientific, Chart, and Samples views) as an alternative.
  • Site under active development. Some pages and links are still being built and are marked accordingly.

We do not claim any "disproportionate burden" exemption; the items above are work in progress, not omissions we consider final.

Tell us about a problem, or ask for help

If you find an accessibility barrier, or you need information in a different format, email accessibility@yfull.ai. We aim to reply within a reasonable time.

Accessibility messages are first handled by an automated system run by the Genetic History accessibility function. If you would like a reply from a person, write the word "escalation" in your subject or message, and we will pass it to a member of staff for a personal response.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Oficina de Atención a la Discapacidad (OADIS) — Spain's national disability office, part of the Real Patronato sobre Discapacidad — which handles accessibility and disability-discrimination complaints. Its current contact details and complaint form are published at rpdiscapacidad.gob.es.

How we assessed this site

This statement is based on an internal self-assessment, most recently carried out on 2 June 2026. We assess the site in two ways: a manual review of its source code and markup, and automated accessibility testing with axe-core. This is a WCAG 2.1 level A and AA scan we run across the site's pages before we publish changes, to catch any critical or serious issues. Our assessment does not yet include hands-on testing with assistive technology such as screen readers (see "What is not fully accessible yet" above).

Dates

This statement was first prepared on 29 May 2026 and was last reviewed on 2 June 2026. We review it at least once a year, and whenever the site changes significantly.
